Rag 30th Anniversary

2011 was the 30th anniversary of Rag Morris. To celebrate we had a big party! On the weekend of the 23rd - 25th of September current and past Rag Morris members and Rag friends gathered together for dancing, music and good times.

The whole weekend was a big success, we all had a lot of fun. We would like to say a big thank you to all those who helped organise, those who cooked, prepared, cooked, cleaned, danced, sang, played, swapped news, acted, acted up, cleared up, ate up, drank up, and generally did everything to make it such a fantastic 30th birthday party for Rag Morris!

What's Happening

Friday:

On the evening of Friday the 23rd we will be gathering together at Woodhouse Park, a short distance from Bristol. The site opens from 5:30pm. A light evening meal will be provided. The evening will be a time to relax, socialise and catch up with old friends, and with the number of musicians present music and singing sessions are highly likely!

Saturday:

Saturday will be the main day of our celebrations. Those staying at Woodhouse Park, following breakfast, will catch the coach into central Bristol for the morris tour. In the evening a meal will be provided followed by an evening of entertainment including a ceilidh, a Rag Morris Mummers performance, and music sessions.

A map of the starting location can be seen here. Please join us at Thunderbolt Square (outside Graze, edge of Queens Square) at 11:15 for dancing at 11:30.

Sunday:

Those who have survived to Sunday will after a leisurely morning and breakfast descend upon a local pub for more dancing! From 11:30 we will be gathering at the Cross Hands in Alveston. For directions from the campsite to the pub visit here.

The campsite must be vacated by 12:00.

Accommodation

The majority will be camping on site, with toilet and shower facilities provided. For those disinclined to camp there is limited indoor accommodation available.
